I was bullied alot in in school so I trained myself  to be stronger than anyone else; for a brat like you to beat me! (Takasago telling Kotarou after their duel).

Tasakago (Actually spelled Takasago); is an antagonist of Rewrite.

Appearance

As described by Kotarou; he has the appearance of a middle aged man with a well-built body and ears like gyoza (a special japanese dish).

Personality

Takasago seemingly has an inferiority complex which was possibly derived from him being bullied when he was younger. His complex got worse after losing to Kotarou in a sparing match (Kotarou cheated by using his abillity Rewrite to make himself stronger). He hates Kotarou; as thinking of him as a gifted person who only achieves things by luck instead of hard work. at the sames time, he is jealouse of him and everyone superior to him mainly: Suzaki, and Sakura. He went as far as to kill Sakura by poisoning her, saying that she thinks of him as nothing more than a meat shield.

Synopsis

Takasago appears in Akane's Route of Rewrite, he meets Kotarou in the men's bathroom where he gets upset and chases Kotarou for making fun of his ears. Later the two of them spare in the school gym in order to test if Kotarou is worthy of being Akane's bodyguard. After being beaten by Kotarou Takasago summons a small but powerful familiar, it however is defeated as well.

Days later Kotarou secures the Key in the forest and happens to meet Takasago who is badly injured. After forcing Kotarou to expose the Key to him Takasago begins to lose his sanity resulting in the two of them fighting. Takasago would have defeated Kotarou if not for Akane's familiar leaf bird swooping down and distracting him. He was finished off by Kotarou after that.

A year later Takasago appears in the underground tunnels of Martel where he tries to bid Kotarou to let him finish his business as a bodyguard out of loyalty. However, Kotarou's instincts allows him to see through the ruse, resulting in another fight. Takasago runs away and begins aimlessly killing people on the surface as well as destroying the pathways to the underground shelters. It is revealed that after he was nearly killed by Kotarou a year ago that he changed the dead parts of his body into familiars in order to survive. He repeatidly injects himself with poison in order to sustain his body (Probably the same poison he used to kill Sakura). As the battle between he and Kotarou draws out, Takasago's body reaches its limits. He begins to ingest all of the poison he has which causes his body to deteriorate. Kotarou ends his life there.

Story (Akane's Route)

Gyoza Ears

Kotarou walks into Martel's bathroom where he and Takasago first meet. Tasakago instantly knows that Kotarou is not part of the organization and asks what he's doing here. Kotarou's answer is that he's going to the bathroom. He asks if Kotarou is a student to which Kotarou says that he was until today. (The two continue to have an odd conversation; Kotarou thinks he is just being honest while Tasakago is just asking bad questions). Eventually Kotarou makes the mistake of saying that Tasakago's ears look like gyoza (Chinese food made by steaming and grilling meat and vegetables wrapped in wheat flour dough). Kotarou denies making fun of his ears, but in the process of explaining he accidently says the word "gyoza". Tasakogo gets mad and chases Kotarou out of the bathroom. Akane sees them as they come out but turns around and falls to her knees from seeing Tasakago's pants unzipped. While chasing him Tasakago screams for Kotarou to stop running just so he can crush him. He corners Kotarou and tells him that his blood will soon be all over his gyoza-ears. Kotarou asks for them to talk about the situation first, but Tasakago says that his ears are too messed up to hear him. Kotarou reminds Tasakago that his pants are still unzipped, when he looks down Kotarou jumps up and kicks him. Tasakago blocks the kick, but falls over as a result. After which Kotarou is saved by Akane.

Bodyguard Test

Tasakago is chosen to be the test figure for Kotarou to see if he can handle being Akane's bodyguard, the fight is witnessed by Akane and Tsukuno. Tasakago tells him that he'll regret mocking him. Tsukuno acts as the referee and gives the starting signal. Tasakago halts her and asks if she wants to set some rules for Kotarou's sake. He does not mind hitting him in the face or his vital areas, but claims thet he might end up breaking his. They agree to punch and kick each other. The match begins with them both crouching down, but neither of them charges forward. Akane bids Kotarou to attack, Kotarou swings at Tasakago's face attempting to  break his nose, but his arm is easily brushed off. Tasakago pushes him them pulls him forward which makes him lose his balance. Tasakago attempts to trip Kotarou, but kotarou grabs onto him and punches his face with little force, due to losing his balance. Kotarou is nearly picked up and thrown by Tasakago, but he resists the throw by grabbing onto him . At that time Akane gets a little nervouse; she knows what Kotarou is about to do. (Unknown to Tasakago Kotarou uses Rewrite to make himself a little stronger). Kotarou wraps his arm around Tasakago's legs and throws him up into the air. Akane tells Kotarou to finish him (Although she herself has no way how he should do that). Kotarou furiously pounds Tasakago's face and chest with his fists until Tasakago gets angry and throws him off. Kotarou drop kicks him, putting him on the floor again, then he winks to Tsukuno hoping that she'ss decide that he's the winner. However, she simply winks back at him. Akane asks if Tasakago is defeated, Tsukuno tells them that Tasakago looks loke he is still willing to fight. Tasakago then gets off the ground with a dark look on his face.

Akane tells Tasakago to stop, as she says that a magic circle appears beneath his feet. Tasakago tells Kotarou his life story; that he was bullied alot when he was younger and that he wanted to become stronger, so her trained himself so much that he almost died. He did judo, karate, kendo, and thai and still was defeated by a brat (Kotarou) who had no training at all. A familiar then jumps out of the magic circle, he tells Kotarou that since he has special talents he should be able to beat this familiar and if he fails, then he has no right to be a holy woman's bodyguard. Tsukuno asks Kotarou if he can beat it, Akane opens her mouth to protest, but Tsukuno argues that it is not a strong familiar and that fighting it would be a good test for Kotarou. The battle begins as soon as Akane tells Kotarou to fight. The familiar charges at Kotarou with high speed and jumps up, Kotarou blocks its body but his bone cracks as a result. It immediatly attacks again; grazing Kotarou's cheek as he dodges it. Before it can get Kotarou from behind, he elbows it then tries to stomp it with his feet. The creature jumps up, spins in the air, and swings its tail; the impact causes  blood to spew from Kotarou's arm. Kotarou manages to grab it by the tail to stop it from attacking, but the familiar swings up and bites Kotarou's fist. Kotarou holds his arm toward Tasakago and uses his aurora blades to puncture the familiar's insides. It turns to dust afterwards. Tasakago asks what he did, Kotarou says that he used his "qi". Akane makes rude remarks about Tasakago's familiar and says that he should stick with creating familiars who's designs are perscribed by Gaia. After being reminded that his inferiority complex is his weakness Tasakago walks away in silence.

Needless Suffering

After Kotarou captures the Key in the forest he happens to come across Tasakago who is badly wounded. Tasakago asks Kotarou why he's in the forest, but Kotarou does not answer. Tasakago jumps to conclusions; suspecting that Kotarou is a member of Guardian and calls him a traitor. As Kotarou denies it, Tasakago tells him to open up the bag on his back (The Key is inside). Kotarou refuses and begins to run away, Tasakago pulls out a revolver and shoots him in his thigh. After being forced into a corner Kotarou opens the bag, revealing the Key's face, but thinks that Tasakago cannot see it. (The Key can keep certain people from noticing it). Tasakago tells him to take out whats inside, but Kotarou tells him that he cannot do that because of the injury to his leg. Kotarou tells him that whats inside is a girl that got lost and that he's trying to save her. Tasakago tells him to stand back and takes a look at the Key, he instantly knows that she's not human. Tasakago begins to lose his sanity and shakes the gun violently; ready to fire. Kotarou knows that he has no intent of coming with him to gets ready to fight and take each other out.

Tasakago fires two bullets as Kotarou deploys his aurora claws, the first bullet grazes his cheek while he completely dodges the second. Tasakago screams as Kotarou's blades stick into his shoulder, nevertheless he manages to aim his gun at Kotarou, but the shots do not his as Kotarou rolls on the ground to dodge them. Tasakago aims the gun at Kotarou's forehead as he dashes at him ready to fire, at that moment the leaf-bird (Which is being controlled by Akane) jumps onto Tasakago's face, stunning him. Kotarou jumps on Tasakago's body and uses his body weight to make clean cut across his chest. Tasakago falls to the ground bleeding heavily, but not dead. Kotarou apologizes to him, but Tasakago calls him a stupid brat in return. Kotarou accepts his last words, creates on blade and swings it down, since Kotarou is inexperienced the cut is not clean and knows that Tasakago suffered needlessly.

Kotarou VS Takasago

Kotarou spots a person near a door in the underground tunnels of Gaia and attacks them with his blade, the person blocks the aurora with his arms. Takasago turns around and smiles at Kotarou while saying that his face looks scary. He tells Kotarou that he's not here to fight and that he's lucky to be alive, Kotarou tells him that him that the wound inflicted on him a year ago should've been fatal, Takasago simply says that modern medicine is amazing. Kotarou asks what he's doing here, he says that he's here to help Kotarou, that he used a path that Guardian did not know about in order to get below Gaia. Takasago asks Kotarou what he's doing, Kotarou responds by saying that they are trying to move all people in the city underground before salvation kills them. Takasago says that no matter what humans do, salvation isn't going to happen unless the Key does something. Takasago speak about how Suzaki treated Takasago as nothing but a meat-shield and how when Kotarou came, his position became in danger. Kotarou states that he is Akane's bodygurd and that his position has nothing to do with Takasago' s position. Takasago states that even so, everyone compared the two of them, that even though Kotarou was younger, he won against Takasago in a fight, and that since he now knows that Kotarou is a superhuman, he had no chance of winning. Takasago smiles and says that even though he has not fully recovered that he'll protect this part of Gaia and the girl (Shimako who is behind the door) while Kotarou goes to look for Akane. Kotarou's aurora beasts start growling and he says that he cannot trust Takasago, he tells him that he should go to the City of Stone, where he'll be able to live peacefully. Realizing that Kotarou will not listen to him, Takasago swings his fist. Takasago's fist graves Kotarou's cheek while destroying the wall behind Kotarou, while Kotarou is bewildered, Takasago laughs and says that he had almost made scrambled eggs of Kotarou's pretty face. Kotarou senses a mysterious power (Life Force) flowing through Takasago and decides to fight him.

As Kotarou tries to make aurora, Takasago throws chunks of concrete as him, so many that Kotarou is forced to block them with his arm. Kotarou counterattacks with a kick (Strong enough to tear through a normal person's body) to Takasago's abdomen, but he is uneffected. Takasago puts his hands together and swings down, though Kotarou blocks it with his arms, he is put on his knees. Kotarou shoots a needle out of his are that heads for Takasago's head, but Takasago dodges and jumps back; far beyong Kotarou's reach. Takasago summons a beetle-familiar that tries to cut through Kotarou's wrist with its horns but is sliced to pieces by Kotarou's aurora. Takasago laughs and taunts Kotarou by stating that he does not hesitate to use his blades, he calls him a mass-murdurer and says that Kotarou's parents must be proud. As more beetles come, Kotarou slices through the second but the third hits his neck, he backs up and crushes it against the wall and hits it with his elbow until it dies. While Kotarou is killing the beatle, Takasago runs away while laughing.

After returning to the surface, Takasago begins destroying the entrances to the City of Stone as well as killing innocent people. Kotarou appears and swings his blade towards Takasago's head; the blades are shattered by Takasago's arm, but Kotarou makes a new blade and slashes his face. Takasago leaps back and throws away the police-baton that he was using to kill people, Kotarou charges at him, Takasago grabs his arm and twists it to the point where it nearly breaks off. Kotarou's blades instinctively stick into Takasago's back, making him release Kotarou. He jumps back, pulls out an ampule and injects it into his neck, he then summons a large wolf-familiar. Sensing that the wolf is more powerful than average familiars, Kotarou slashes but it evades. As the wolf attempts to bite Kotarou's blade, the aurora beasts multiply and attack the wolf mercilessly; the wolf manages to break one blade but is skewered by more blades. While the wolf is being eaten, Kotarou looks at Takasago and sees that his very body has become distorted; his skin is bright red, he is sweating, his eyes are sticking out of his head, his breathing is rough, and he is drooling. The wolf stands up, having devoured all the blades, but after taking a step towards Kotarou the blades burst out of the wolf and start cutting it apart from the inside. Knowing that Kotarou is wondering how he can control so many familiars, Takasago tells him that long ago he wanted to impress people so he made a point of making as many contracts as possible, though the only hard part is summoning the familiars. He bellows that if he had stuck to creating more familiars that he could have killed for more people. He then taunts Kotarou about how he wasted all of Kotarou's hard work by killing so many people. Kotarou tells him that if he wanted revenge then Takasago should've attacked him directly, and states that he's just dragging this out. Takasago tells him that ist not about him, he is just being optomistic; killing people because he can. Takasago pulls out more ampules which Kotarou states that it is unfair, Takasago tells him that he needs a supply of energy; it raises his stamina, boosts his spirit, and gives him stronger and faster musles. He continues by stating that oxygen was once poisonous, but creatures evolved until they could make use of it; becoming faster than other creatures. When he was in the forest, he was to hurt to move and had to drink puddles of dirty water that filled his stomach full of toxins, then he got the idea to turn the dead parts of his body into familiars. He could break down poisen and turn it into energy, after injecting two more ampules, he bellows loudly. Kotarou tells him that he's not apart of Gaia now that Sakura Kashima is dead, Takasago instantly says that he killed her, because she always treated him like a meat-sack, and expresses that he is happy if her death caused trouble for his girl (Akane). As Takasago swings his arm, acidic-poison flies from the slits at Kotarou, Kotarou extends his blades while running at Takasago, but the blades are easily broken by his fist. In an effort to make Kotarou madder, Takasago grabs a refugee hiding under a bending machine and kills them, after which he tears down a wall and throws poisen on the people behind it that melts their faces. Kotarou runs at Takasago, but stops as Takasago points his poison soaked finder at him. He then leaves to kill more people.

Takasago had already murdered several people by the time Kotarou had arrived. Kotarou sees a group of people (Mostly consisting of the elderly) huddled together; one of them he recognizes. He screames for his teacher to run away which peaks Takasago's interest, he heads for the teacher, though Kotarou tries to stop him he swats Kotarou away like a fly. The teacher walks out from the crowd and pleads for Takasago to hurt only her while leaving the other people alone. Takasago grabs the teacher by her head with his poison soaked arm and begins to crush her skull, at that moment armed police men fire at Takasago, but their bullets only leave dents in his arm. The police men looks at Takasago's distorted face and asks if he's taking drugs, Takasago bellows that poison is a wonderful and delicious thing, then he realizes that the chief policeman is the one that was looking into his case (Probably the one where he murdured Sakura Kashima). The policemen fire as Takasago approaches, but he is unfazed; they try to surrender but he tells them that surrender is some thing that the strong offer to the weak, not the weak to the strong. Takasago breaks one officer's body with his fist, melts the faces of two more with acid poison, and and round-kicks the remaining two. He then returns to the teacher; she pleases for the two of them to stop and talk first but he does not listen. Takasago picks the teacher up, but as he does; something hits him in the face. (Kotarou had made his entire body stronger using his Rewrite ability, picked up a stop sign and hit Takasago in the face with it). Seeing Takasago stumbles for the first time, Kotarou picks up more blunt objects (Bike signs, benches, and potted plants) and hit him with them all. Takasago gets irritated and swats Kotarou with enough force to smash into a wall and lose his hearing in one ear. When Kotarou gets back up and heads for him, Takasago throws poison but Kotarou ignores it and shoves his blades in the slits in Takasago's arm; his beasts eat away at Takasago's flesh from the inside; causing his body to become inflamed and give off a horrible stench. Takasago tries to inject himself with more ampules, but Kotarou kicks them out of his hand; he tackles Takasago and screams for him to fall over. Takasago resists and punches Kotarou in the back with both fists, however Kotarou's beasts burst out of shoulder and eat into Takasago's hand, Kotarou uses that chance to get Takasago on the ground and starts punching his face, but his punches do not deal that much damage. Yoshino throws Kotarou a pair of brass knuckles (Actually stainless steel), Takasago tries to resist the force of Kotarou's punches, but loses the strength to defend himself. When the knuckles shatter from the force of Kotarou's punches, Kotarou stands up and swings his fist down with enough force that Takasago's face literary splatters. Takasago knocks Kotarou off of him and holds his face that is covered in black blood, he runs over to Kotarou's teacher while Kotarou is stunned from that last attack and says that he is surprised that she did not run away. The teacher says that Kotarou is her student and that teachers do not abandon their students. Takasago laughs while saying that if he had a teacher like her then he would have punched her face in. Takasago's fist flies at the teacher but it does not connect, Kotarou approaches and tells him that his body is at its limit. Takasago denies it and starts injecting his body with many ampules; putting them in his mouth and crushing them while enjoying the ecstacy. Eventually his body decomposes into familiar-dust, Kotarou creates a blade, shoves it through his neck; finally ending his misery.
